I've loved music ever since I can remember, starting with seeing Elvis / the Beatles on tv and listening to my parents records. Their console stereo was the only musical outlet in the house when I was growing up.
I begged my father for a guitar, and late in grammar school he bought me a $5 acoustic and Mel Bay book. Without any real guidance, that didn't go far: I figured out how to play the "Louie Louie" riff on the low E string and that was about it.
After that, I was always listening to music but never making any, with a few exceptions. I did teach myself to read music and do some rudimentary piano playing. Around 2004 I decided to learn guitar, bought an acoustic and some books but put it aside after 9 months when I wasn't able to make chord changes on tempo after weeks of repetitive practice.
Around Thanksgiving 2013, I read about Rocksmith and decided to give the guitar another go but this time with an electric. However, I found LMG which seemed a better general learning choice so I got it instead of Rocksmith.... and here I am!
