Hey Paully,

Welcome back! I don't know that you need to start over from lesson one, but you'll probably find, once your fingers get in shape again, that you'll move along fairly quickly through what you've already done. Have fun with it, find some tunes that you like and go for it. Work on both chords and picking through melodies. It'll come back. Many people take time off, and it's definitely possible to come back to it. And if you can't get in 45 minutes, do 10 or 20. It all helps! Daily practice is probably more important than how long you practice. Good luck! Mary

Thank you Steve! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and the same to everyone who is part of the L&MG family!

From Mary, who is still working at being a competent guitar player :)

Good post and good responses (Thanks for the video link Randy!)  I think a lot of times many of us back off from guitar  for various reasons, and it can be hard to get back into it. It can also be challenging to keep at it, whether you've taken a break or not, so everyone's ideas are helpful. When I am feeling discouraged, I make a point of taking the guitar out every day, even if it is very late at night, and at least going through scales and strumming through chords, just reviewing them, strumming through some favorite songs too. It really helps me get motivated again.

Wow Opie, I've been reading your blog. Tough times, and yet you can still put some humor into your writing. I have not been able to attend Guitar Gathering, so we haven't met. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and hope you can beat this. Take care.
