About Me

It was Christmas 2011 and I'd just turned 44... never held a guitar before in my life, and if I'm completely honest I couldn't have even told you how many strings it had (yeah, I know)...

I work for myself as a photographer, have two teenage kids and love fast motorbikes, although I seldom tend to get out on them these days and my days of 'scratching' are pretty much being this old man. I have no musical background or knowledge, but I'd been looking for a hobby I could turn my attention to and since I always loved the idea of playing the guitar but had never had the time (or determination) to pick one up before, it seemed like an ideal time to give it a go.

After scouting the internet for a while, the LMG course seemed ideal - work from home in your own time and... most important for me, within a structured course - I didn't want to just pick up a few riffs then have no direction to go after that (I know I'd have quit within months). I also didn't really want the hassle of a set time with a guitar teacher each week. Anyway, I made the decision, bought the course and started my journey, and I'm very glad I did...
