I think I know the answer to this before I even ask. The session has you practicing "Saints," both melody and base line. The book says you're ready to move on when you can play "Saints" (base line) at a steady pace. Now, I can play the base line alone with no issue whatsoever, as I can play the melody with my right hand with no problem. My issue is combining the two. I'm just assuming that since playing the base line alone is way too easy, this means to be able to play the song WITH the base line, and not just the base line alone? Are you here by chance Will? Or anyone else??

I don't believe you are expected to combine the two. Wait until Session 10. That's the first time you will need to combine a baseline with the melody. Trust me, this course is s - l - o - w ----  I love that it's slow.

Hi,

Hold on ....play them separately with the CD track 13 until you are playing one line (say RH) and listening to the other (LH). Then swap, but don't play together yet.

Later in Lean on Me you get to play both hands together, and here the LH follows the top note of the RH and you start to get to read / play with two hands.

Slow it down break it down !

Cheers

... this is the piano forum though. There aren't any forums for the piano course. Some of us are still working through it and I'm presuming you are still selling the course?
