Hey gang, here is a list of the events going on around town during conference week that I know of.... (I know that many of you are wanting to attend things in Nashville while you are here.)

Since these are not conference events you're on your own for acquiring tickets to these.

Monday July 10th - Vince Gill and the Time Jumpers at 3rd and Lindsley (Tickets $20 can be bought online or at the door).

Wednesday July 12th - James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt at the Bridgestone Arena (Tickets can be bought online)

Thursday July 13th - Live Lesson Taping at Trevecca

There will be more events that come up as things get closer. I'll let you know if I hear of anything more. - Steve

Live Lesson Taping at Trevecca

Yahoo!

By far the best bang for the buck!

Looking forward to my wife and I getting to meet and greet with the host and moderator of this informative weekly show.

Ha!  I hear he's pretty pretentious.  He probably won't come out until just before the show then leave right after.  What a snob!

You ought to see that guys performance rider!  A buffet of Jack in the Box tacos and green M & Ms waiting for him after each performance.  Wow.

I heard he wouldn't even open his guitar case for less than a dozen Jack in the Box tacos.

Just checked on the James Taylor tickets.  As of noon today they still had 6 of the $595.00 tickets left.  LOL  The nosebleed section are $66.00 each.  The back row seats are $100.00 (2 tickets with fees and parking were $275+)......hmm Thursday night is looking better and better.

Didn't see anything posted for 3rd and Lindsley other than the Time Jumpers on Monday night and I will not be there until Tuesday.

The Station Inn may have something on Friday, but as of now it is just "pending".

Anyone found anything else more reasonable in price for that week?

Wow Shadowboxer86!

You just made it amazingly obvious how great a deal our Guitar Gathering is as we will meet and interact with fantastic professional performers for several days versus a large crowd and a 2 hour show from a distance.

I cannot think of any single performer I would pay $275 to see.

mark that's 2 tickets he's quoting. and if you have to drive in, yes there is parking

but why drive and have the hassle of traffic and parking.. Uber and Lyft are cheap alternatives along with the golf cart tip travel.

and don't get fooled by the over priced "premium seats" that Ticket master tosses into the web site, plus the resale market is pricy

premium seats are not part of the regular pricing, when you look at the sliders its says : $X -  $XXX but the slider never posts the premium seat prices.

I saw Selena Gomez in Bridgestone Center Nashville last year for $79 each about 10 rows up on the side and I had way better seats than the people on the floor front row.

(as I side note: just bought Joe Bonamassa tickets for November up here on the fan presale.. cost $159 + TM fees + tax times 2.. I didn't even notice they had front rows for $189 each.. and yes TM had the scammer $250, $350 and $450 premium seats... so that's like $372 for a pair JB tickets here)

Doug, JB is coming here (actually to Lincoln an hour drive) in August. The first row seats sold out in milliseconds.  The second section, not second row but second seating section, has tickets available yet.  It is a really nice outdoor venue called the Pine Bowl.  Those tickets are $178.   I am still thinking about it.  We just saw him on the cruise.  We will see him next year on the cruise.  Thinking.................................

JB is incredibly talented.

I would however prefer to watch Steve play guitar and Dino play sax or keys than pay even $50 for a personal concert by JB - he seems so angry/arrogant/out of touch.  Opinion confirmed by a friend who spoke with him.

Maybe he is like a wine that takes time to mellow and present a pleasing flavor.

He has intensity but it is angry versus Tommy Emmanuel or Doyle Dykes who have been intensely playing for huge crowds for decades.

Character comes through the musician's instrument.

If you haven't been to a Guitar Gathering, you are going to enjoy hearing and being around these guys more than you know.

Just my opinion.

I've met and talked the Joe Bonamassa 4 times.

He is a shy guitar nerd, you want him to open up... Bring a guitar for him to sign.
(And not a low end squire or low end LP that you just bought 5 min before the meet n greet)

He will talk your ear off. Wants to know the guitars history, history of every scratch and ding.
He sign my LP and my truss rod cover, and my LP has lots of dings

I did research and found he loves goldfish kids snacks and red wine, I brought him both, he was very appreciative.

Some People do find his stage presence cold and distant..
I do know he feels that wearing a suit during the show he feels it's a sign of respect for the audience, as BB King would do and not torn jeans and t shirt, like he just got out of bed

Anyways, everyone's mileage varies

Wish I was at this year's gathering, hope of 2018

Unfortunately I am, never was a groupie growing up, but for some reason he sparks an interest,
