I am in!

I will be working on the Major Scales course everyday. I can already see the improvement so I know a month of practice should be a big benefit.

Well – this is not really a 30-day plan - I have wanted to take lessons locally, but have hesitated to pull the trigger (time, fear of commitment, etc.).

Today I made the call and signed up for private lessons. I love the L&M course, but feel I need some additional feedback and direction.

I start next Monday (November 7).

Good luck Dave.......hope you found a great teacher who will help you.

I am trying to climb back in the saddle after all the moving and job transition. Started back with a True Fire Blues course that is intermediate level. I will dedicate 30 minutes per night.

Good luck everyone.

After working really hard to get ready for a Blues Guitar Unleashed jam event - 1+ hours every day for 8 weeks - I really upped my playing.  Following the event we visited family and friend for 3 weeks and I slacked off to 2 30 minute practices a week.  Now I have to get back on the horse and get to the next level.  My goal is to practice at least 60 minutes per day and complete L&MG chapter 14 and Blues Spotlight chapter 3.  I've not moved the needle on either of these in over a year!

Good luck to everyone on achieving your goals.

Rick

I'm in.

Will work (even harder) on barre chords in November. I'm getting there, but progress is SO SLOW and there are many days I think I'll never play them cleanly and quickly. However, I KNOW that eventually, with enough persistence, they will finally be manageable. It will be interesting to see how much 30 days of dedicated practice will improve them.

I'm in, too. Will finish up Session 9 and work hard on Session 10 during the next 30 days. It would be great

to start Session 11 the beginning of December!

Best of luck everyone, and have fun!

I've been messing around with Steve's arrangement of "The Christmas Song" for too long. Right here and now I'm making a commitment to finally learn it once and for all by the end of this month. I might have to simplify a few parts, but I'm going to do it.  :rightguitar:

well I'm studying for yet another work re-Certification test.

but this Saturday Nov 5.. I'm really stepping out of my comfort zone.
Choir director is not there.. and I will lead the choir this weekend.. so I guess call it my No Excuses November.. then back to the books hard.

I can already feel the sweat dripping as my opinion and barre chords don't ring clear.. matching my timing to the other guitarist and the kids singing.

I am still working on getting back to where I was before my extended break to be with my wife more. Now they have accepted my offer on a nice home in the Rogue River area of Southern Oregon and this house is getting finished up to get on the market. So my practice has been slowed down again. Too many unpleasant memories here to stay though. I just said what no Southern boy will ever say. When I retire I'm moving North. But then I'm not a Southern Boy either.

Good luck to everyone!

My goal this month is to play My Father's World (half as good as Steve does in Fingerstyle) and find a way for Pete Huttlinger's First Light (Xmas song) to make one think of Xmas!  :-)

As for Fretboard Workouts, I unravel at 92 BPM on 16th notes :-(

Master Scales Workouts needs to find a way to Level 2!

Wishing everyone a great Holiday Season.  It now looks like mine will be a "tad busy".....

I need to get my barre chords back up to speed. I need to practice the scales course.

Okay, gang, I'd better ante up, too: by the end of November, I want to have the classical Carcassi etude I've been working on up to 60 bpm without rolling off the rails. Just a few more measures to go to make my earnest young tutor very happy.    If you're really into pull offs, it's No. 8 here, and it sounds like this.

I have been in session 5 long enough, it's time to wrap it up by the end of the month. Though I'm close on the move on requirements, Cord changes seem at times clumsy and slow. My summer practice was off but I'm back home now without excuses. Let's make it a good month gang.

Great resource.  Looks challenging and very nice to listen to....at least by him!   I'll put it on my things to do list.  Good luck.

Session 18 has been slow. The Jazz sound is yet to grow on me, but the changing keys midsong is interesting. I'm still working more on 17 & 19. Maybe give 18 full focus this month and move on.

I'm in too! I really slacked off this past summer and had a hard time getting back into practicing. My goals are to practice EVERYDAY, work at the Speed & Agility exercises and the Major Scales, and barre chords. Outside of those things, I'll find some fun tunes to work on. Last time I did No Excuses Guitar Month, my playing improved significantly, and it was mostly from making the effort to get in some good practice each day, even if I only had 10-15 minutes at a time. I remember I started feeling really comfortable with my guitar. I would like to get that feeling back.

Goal is to finish the TrueFire Guitar Foundations by Richard Gilewitz. This is a finger style course which I hope will allow me to use finger style to replace strumming for some songs.
