I wanted to say thanks to Dave_White for asking about a program called "Instruments of Joy".

Dave emailed me his idea for any member attending the gathering to bring an instrument that they want to donate to this organization or a monetary donation to be collected at the gathering to give to Instruments of Joy. You do not have to attend the gathering to participate in this great venue to support and give back to music

We will collect all instruments and donations and deliver to this organization in the name of M.O.M & Steve Krenz!

Please consider this program in the next month and make a decision to spread music with a giving heart. If you would like to participate, just respond to this thread or the one in the Gathering Master List, and I will keep a current roster posted.

Thank you.

What about guitar parts as in a loaded pick guard for a fender strat.

Hi Harry,

I'm not sure if they can use parts or not. Gruhn's donates repair work for guitars that come to Instruments of Joy in need of some TLC. Bring it along - perhaps Gruhn's can keep it on hand in case they need to refurbish a strat.

Hi Mark

Josh sent me a text Wednesday. He was in Thailand during the Gathering. I asked him if he found the instruments and here is his response:

'We do have the instruments! Had a great trip to Thailand. So very blessed by all of you!

You should receive an email from Instruments of Joy with a photo of your guitar with its new owner (likely sometime this fall).

Thanks Mark (papamark) and Tom (Major Lee Oblivious) for donating instruments!

Let's have a round of applause for Dave, for taking time away from all the fun at the guitar gathering to round up the instruments and deliver them!   :)

Way to go Dave and all those that donated!  We ooohhhhh and aaahhhh over the beauty of our guitars and forget that there are kids that do the same and most likely will NEVER put their hands on ANY guitar.  Way to spread the joy!
