MIGHTY OAK MUSIC GATHERING 2015

Hello all,
I'm still checking with the hotel. Haven't heard anything back from them yet.
I did hear back from Muriel Anderson's people and they are waiting to hear from NAMM about having the All Star Guitar Night. They do this event every year so it's more of an issue of where they are going to have it and what day than if it's going to happen.
Muriel's people said that they will know more in a month. If it comes through then I can see about getting us a group rate on the tickets.
Just wanted everyone to know that we are still working on this and very excited about it coming together.
- Steve

Maybe I am back to 0%! I just went to make a reservation at the Holiday Inn Express and for 2 people, double beds, the rate was $270 per night! (King was >$500/night). Needless to say I didn't confirm my reservation.

Yikes.....I understand.....none of us want to expend that kind of $$$$. Please be patient for a bit. Steve is trying to work something out. We may have to change our central lodging point to accommodate cost, location, logistics, etc........

I would love to attend and meet other forum members. Personally I think the dates are bad. Right on the heels of July 4th when all travel gets jacked. Then there's NAMM, we just got through it here in SoCal. Everything for miles around got went up in price but then it's the Disney area thing as well.. Anything downtown Nashville will be $230+ per night hotel, add rental car, parking or UBER etc just rings up the $$$$. I wish the week was back loaded towards Thur-Sat vs early and mid week. I'll keep an eye on this thread but as it stands <50% right now. Great idea but a long shot for me.

Sounds like things are going to be pretty expensive in Nashville the week that has been picked out, with everything going on there at the time. I'm usually, (what am I saying? always) a cheap traveler. I stay in camp grounds or cheap motels outside of town and then drive in for the festivities. So, that might be a idea for those like me that would like to go and not break the bank.
I've never been to or around Nashville, so I have know knowledge of the place, but I'm sure there are some places within a half hour or so of the place where we can find to stay. i always find that even if you stay in town on the other side of town it can be just as long getting to the places you meet at as it is to be outside of town a bit and drive in, just because of traffic. What's another ten or fifteen minutes?
If I can come, that will be how I will have to do it and, should I do it I'll pass on any places I find ahead of time on here if anybody is interested.
My problem will be to find the way to work out the way to get away for the three or four weeks it will take me to get there and back. I'll drive and the gas will only be a small part of the problem. Mine will be leaving behind a 89 year old mother, alone.

Sign me up!
I attended gatherings #2, #3, and #4.
Also, the Summit in Franklin.
These events were all money losers, but they were life changers.
It's time for me to try to pay some of it back.
Steve, please email me and tell me how I can help.
I challenge all the alums to adopt a serving/giving/helping mindset.
Steve should be able to relax and interact with those he has benefitted so HUGELY, free of the drudgery.
Also, it occurs that some of us might be able to chip in and fund a private concert.
Murial, Phil, Johnny, Jack, Brent, Russ, Will, Dino...
Wow! - we got to rub elbows with them and ask our questions and get our pictures taken.
Crazy talented, and so open, humble, and unpretentious.
Can anybody say that they were the same after that?
Come on! Let's play it forward.
,,reg...
