Wow...I've never heard such an accurate description of my parents...

Andrew, don't worry...growing older is mandatory. Growing UP is optional.
A rut or a groove, the difference is attitude!

Its funny how after a restore certain threads get bumped.

this thread started in 2008 and the last time anyone looked at it was Mon Mar 01, 2010 2:15 am untill the other day in Sept 2010.

but I have to admit that's the longest number of words I think I have ever seen Kent type

I've been standing out here for nearly 15 minutes now trying to compose myself. This would be my first time attending the open mic and here I am nearly 2 hours late. I'll bet most the older folkes have already called it a night. Can't say I blame them though, that new fangled jello based denture cream starts liquifying from exposure to saliva after only a few hours. This is progress they tell us, 'Do Not fear the JELLO' is all we here from the politicians anymore. I for one believe the stories of people being incarcerated for eating pudding. Maybe one more bowl of gelatin I tell myself but then I notice the two guys in the Kent Jello truck parked across the street and figure its probably safer to get inside.

Just as I thought, the place was almost empty. Seated around a table off to the right were three men figiting over a pedal board and right in front of the stage was a man restringing an acoustic. Based on the size of the empty string packages piled next his chair I guessed he must suffer from some sort of compulsion for this sort of thing. I took a seat just off stage right as to keep as much distance as possible between myself and that lady with a bag on her head over by the bar.

'Maybe this would be a good opportunity to try out my new raggae hip-hop arrangment of home on the range' I was thinking when I noticed the man in the corner staring at me. What ever, I know I look a little strange wearing a rhinestone bowtie and a kilt but thats the way I roll these days.

Theres something familiar about this man and its not just the missing eyebrow or the broken yukalaylee craddled in his arms. Its that not quite solid, not quite liquid look in his eyes. Theres something very deeply jello about this man. I havent seen that look since the war when I was captured sabatoging the enemies mobile mixing bowl. That cannot be the infamous 'Dr. Jello'? that man was a monster. The things he did with a jello mold were inhuman.

Now I'm scared. I've got to get out of here. Just as I stand to make a mad dash to the exit one of my tassles pops off and the front door bursts open...

I just saw this thread for the first time....I thought the title was amusing because we have a bar here called "The Legacy"; its the nastiest little shithole  . I actually know someone who got shot there....

Nice playing Kent.
Obviously a very difficult classical piece and I am sure that as you play it more you will be come more fluid with it.

Well done

Without further ado… ZICO!!!!

I've just been going through Zico's videos on YouTube and that man is darn good. Oh to not only be able to play as well as that but to have a good singing voice too ....

Of course, the set for the immediately preceding drama was the local "gelateria", a.k.a. ice cream shop. Nice playing!

The air was a buzz with people gathering in the Legacy tonight.
They were there to honor the Godfather on his birthday.
You don’t ask anybody his age, but you better know when his birthday is or else…

People were lining up to offer their best wishes for a long life and many children.
The place was packed from wall to wall and free Jell-O was being served to all.
Everyone was having a good time.

Bubu got up on stage to thank everyone for coming and to announce the next performance.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you for your listening pleasure,
Kent ‘The Jell-O Man’. He will play a special song tonight for the Godfather.
I hope everyone likes it or I’ll make an offer you can’t refuse.”

It was a dark and stormy night.
The wind was howling like a pack of wolfs waiting for the nights first kill.
In the distance, a flash of light and the sound of thunder were heard.
The leaves on the trees were rustling together like hundreds of ants scurrying around in the jungle looking for whatever they could find to quench the hunger of the hive. :o

The book slammed shut as the main attraction arrived on stage.

Ladies and gentleman let’s give a warm Welcome :D to Zico. One of the best L&MG Blues players I’ve heard. I think he’s great and so will you.
