I have found another resource to help in the memorization of the notes. I like it. It's really a no brainer but for me it's actually working, so I thought I would share it.
here is the link
You can download the pdf but if you watch the video it would even be enough
take care

Nice find Maria, I like Hamlin he's decent teacher I like how he has used the circle of fifths (fifths-CW, fourths-ACW) rather than learning the naturals sequentially that's double benefit. Thanks for sharing
Yup I like that too and for the first time I actually feel on my way to memorizing. Like its more organized in my brain lol
And your welcome

I completely agree about the metronome. It's like a truth serum...very valuable and I've come to respect it so much!!Thank you so much for sharing. This is a great way to learn. I've already learned more in a day than I have in three weeks of using another method. I'm learning that using the metronome actually helps me learn songs and drills faster. As much as i hate it at times, it really is a useful tool.

I just don't get it... I've been doing this for "aaaages" and... I still don't sound like Slash... ;-)

Nice find, Maria. I've just started using this method myself.
Hi Tired Rob,
Yes, I'm really excited by my progress so far. It's so simple yet it works!! Good luck with your endeavor too

Thanks for the link Maria, I need all the help I can get trying to learn my way around the fretboard.
Hi Jerry, I know exactly what you mean. I started this less then a week ago and so far I have memorized: c, g, d, and a!!!
I'm really excited because I'm finally retaining it. When I have tried to memorize with the octave jumps etc , there's no retention for some reason but this logical simple way is working for me. That metronome is part of it too!!

I once played a cat and got all scratched up. I should have waited until it was made into guitar strings first.
Jell-O curtains are the best of both worlds. Just don't eat the curtains.
