I am not sure it was about "paying homage to Steve" in his hometown. I think it was more of a wouldn't it be cool if we could all get together and hang out for a weekend, maybe we could even get Steve to show up. Nashville was just an obvious location since many members, including Adele were looking for an excuse to visit.
Steve first agreed to come to the hotel and and teach sessions. He also joined in and went to some of the extracuricular activities that year, including an outdoor concert with Peter Frampton.
Later on Legacy decided to rent a building for one of the days that we were there and hosted us for the entire day. There were goodie bags, a silent auction, a setup seminar with Greg Voros, the first student showcase, and the evening ended with a concert by Tom Hemby. I don't believe Legacy asked for anything extra for that day so I am pretty sure they lost money on that year too.
