i wanted to start a new heading for the next gathering rather than looking through the old ones for updates that related to the next guitar days. i new here and am kind of excited about going, i hope that it is in nashville. memphis would be nice but nashville is more of a music city. some of the 'old timers' could post their impressions about past gathering and give some example of cost, what equipement to bring, what were the accomidations like etc.

I would be interested in going to this one as well. Joining the Praise Band at Church has helped overcome my nerves about playing with and in front of others somewhat.

I just got started in April. Took a few weeks off after my dad passed but going full bore now.
This sounds so exciting. Would love to bring my family. Theres plenty in Nashville for everyone to enjoy.
I don't know a lot yet, but my wife tells me I play a mean "Ode to Joy".

I'll come next year. I have one of my best friends from the navy living in Nashville. So I'll be going to see him and his family whether anyone else is around. Will probably hit Steve up as well!!! But I want a Gathering so bad.

I pray that I can return for the third time in a row.

For anyone who has not been there, if you enjoy playing guitar, learning more, and being surrounded with like minded people, you are in for a treat. It is a family event as there is plenty to do in Nashville even if spouse and kids do not want to hear you play.

Steve - may I reiterate that I am willing to volunteer and I expect to be in much better physical condition than last time.

My wife and I would love to be there.... Looking for tips....as to what to bring.... and costs... so I know how to plan....

Come to Connecticut, the tax me the death state! :whistle: Gas is up to $3.87, in Mass it's $3.61. Just an example.

On the tax side I looked up the rate for your state...unless I missed something it looks like you have a 4.83% income tax...my state is 6.78%


Sorry, but just had to comment.
I pay ~40% in income tax and gas costs ~$10 per gallon here in Norway.
Feeling more envy than pity :)
