LIVE LESSON FAQ

WHEN?

Live lessons are held most Tuesday evenings at 7pm Central Standard Time (UTC -5).  When they are broadcasting you will see the live broadcast.  When we are off air you will see the most recent live lesson.  You can see the upcoming schedule HERE.

WHERE?

You can watch the Live Lessons on Ustream by clicking HERE or by going to this link... http://www.ustream.t...er-live-lessons

WEEKLY INFORMATION

Steve will post a thread each week letting us know the topic of the upcoming lesson, deliver any necessary materials and resources (i.e. sheet music, audio tracks, links, videos, giveaways etc.) or if it will be cancelled (and if it is, he'd better have a good reason!).

You can get to that in this thread... http://community.lea...5-live-lessons/

DO THEY COST ANYTHING? No. Live lessons are free.

HOW DO I ASK A QUESTION OR CHAT WITH OTHER STUDENTS?

Anyone can view the Live Lesson. However, if you wish to chat with Steve, other students or the guests, or have a chance to win the various gear and guitars we often giveaway, you must register for a free UStream account.

You can register for your account here: http://www.ustream.t...ef=%2Fdashboard

Once you have registered, you can log in and participate in our Live Lessons. You are able to view the Lessons in three ways - whichever is most convenient to you:

1) Gibson's Learn & Master Guitar Channel on UStream.tv
2) Gibson's Learn & Master Facebook Page (make sure you Like us while you're there!)
3) On your mobile device

HOW DO I WATCH PAST LIVE LESSONS?
You can view all of our past Live Lessons here: http://www.ustream.t...-lessons/videos (there are some really good ones!)

HOW CAN I BE SIGNED UP FOR THE GIVEAWAYS?

Each lesson usually has several giveaways. These range from helpful books, CDs from guests, guitar pedals, and even guitars.  Giveaway winners are selected at random from those logged in during the live lesson.  You don't need to chat but you do need to be logged in through Ustream.  See "How Do I Ask a Question" for details on how to login through Ustream.

I WON A GIVEAWAY! WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Congratulations!  You need to email us at... Service@LegacyInstruction.com . Send us your mailing address, Ustream screen name, and what you won.  Giveaways are usually mailed out within a few days after the broadcast.  Shipping times vary depending on where you live.

HOW DO I SUGGEST A TOPIC OR GUEST?

Just start a thread in the live lesson section of this discussion board.

Henry, good question. If you click the archive link (http://www.ustream.t...-lessons/videos) you'll see the topic listed right under the video.

There is no lesson this week due to the Holiday. Will start back up next week after everyone has had their fill of turkey.

No. Steve is working on some videos this week. He will resume next week.
"If you can get them once, man, get them standing up when they should be sitting down, sweaty when they should be decorous, smile when they should be applauding politely-and I think you sort of switch on their brain, man, so that makes them say: 'Wait a minute, maybe I can do anything.' Whoooooo! It's life. That's what rock and roll is for, turn that switch on, and man, it can all be."

Missed Johny Hilland tonight - went to see Experience Hendrix (Kenny Wayne Sheppard and Eric Johnson were great) - but now can't watch it because It says content is not online. Says the same for 2/28 lesson. When will they be available?

Thanks for the personal answer, Steve. Looks like the problem is with me iPad and iPhone. I can see these on my PC. Don't know why, other live lessons load on all. Looking forward to seeing this tonight. Thanks, again. Great courses. Doing sessions 10 & 11 until I get Canon.

Best regards,
Rick

What is up with all the advertisements recently appearing on top of the lessons?

To have paid advertisements is fine as I understand the need for revenue but there seemed to be no coordination of the advertisements popping up and the actual lesson so content was overdubbed.

I know there were complaints duing a recent live session but have not learned anything about it since then.

Is there a solution to this new issue?

Will the recordings of lessons also have this stuff embedded or can we go back and review the full lesson when it is archived?

Hi Steve / Fabian

Looking forward to another great lesson

I am watching tonight from the New Jersey shore on an iPad over 3g and my chat forum on uStream does not seem to work.

If I should be lucky enough to win tonight I will not be able to reply.

Live lessons are great. Really gives me motivation to continue and it's such a great source of information. Being in Australia, I mostly watch the recorded version on ustream but there are quite a few lessons that don't have a picture. There is sound but no picture. Some work fine, so it can't be the connection. I left a message with ustream but never received a reply. An example is the recent lesson with Gordon Kennedy. No picture. Any idea what may be wrong?

Keep teaching.

Reinoud.

Reinoud,

I have the same problem over here in Holland, at least when I watch the lessons on my ipad:
- the last lesson, 2 weeks ago: sound + video
- 3 weeks ago, Gordon Kennedy: sound, no video
-1 month ago: sound + video
- 1 month ago, Greg Voros: sound, no video
- 2 months ago, Soloing with arpeggios: sound, no video

When I watch them on my Mac, all works fine.
