According to Urban Dictionary, "tight" is good. But in painting, it's bad! As you work your way toward completion of a painting, make sure not to lose sight of your original theme just to make the painting more detailed. Also, plan ahead so that you are not fiddling with the painting and trying to solve problems like color, drawing and brushwork which you should have figured out before.
